CERTIFICATES ARE AVAILABLE
Filter Type: It’s an air filter designed to capture a very high percentage of airborne particles.
H13 Rating: The “H13” designation refers to its specific filtration efficiency according to European standards (EN 1822-1). An H13 HEPA filter is typically rated to remove at least 99.95% of particles with a size of 0.3 micrometers (µm). This includes dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, and even some bacteria and viruses.
Construction: HEPA filters are usually made of a mat of randomly arranged fibers, often fiberglass. The fibers are pleated to increase the surface area and framed within a rigid housing (which appears to be visible in the image).
Mechanism: They work through a combination of three mechanisms:
- Impaction: Larger particles collide with and stick to the fibers.
- Interception: Particles follow the air flow, but touch a fiber and stick to it.
- Diffusion: Very small particles move erratically and are more likely to collide with fibers.
Applications: HEPA filters are widely used in:
- Medical Facilities: Hospitals, operating rooms, cleanrooms, and laboratories.
- Pharmaceutical and Electronics Manufacturing: To prevent contamination.
- Residential and Commercial HVAC Systems: For superior air purification, especially for allergy sufferers or in areas with high pollution.
- Air Purifiers: Standalone units designed to clean indoor air.
